SportNL Athletic Scholarships Awardees

Sport Newfoundland and Labrador (SportNL) presented the recipients of its Scholarship Awards during their 31st Annual Scholarship Reception, held at the Johnson Geo Centre in St. John’s.

Two of our own NLBHA ball hockey players were this year’s recipients. Shae-Lynn Clarke of Bell Island and Alyson Thomas from L’Anse au Clair.

Shae-Lynn recently played in the 2021 CBHA Women’s ‘A’ National Championship in Calgary where she captured player of the game honors. Shae-Lynn has also been selected to play for Canada at the 2022 Women’s World Championships being held in Montreal on June 21-27. Shae-Lynn is completing her Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Academy Canada.

Alyson was named to the U20 Girls Junior Ball Hockey Canadian team. She is currently working towards a bachelor of science in nursing at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Both girls will represent Team NL at the CBHA Women’s ‘A’ National Championship to be held in Hamilton, Ontario in August.

Congratulations to you both on your outstanding achievements.
