The Newfoundland and Labrador Ball Hockey Association (NLBHA) is pleased to announce job openings for the prestigious 2026 CBHA Junior National Championships. We are currently seeking two dedicated individuals to lead the Team NL Selects as Director of Operations. Join us in representing Newfoundland and Labrador on the National stage!
Application Deadline: May 18, 2026

Location: Saint John, New Brunswick – July 20 – July 26, 2026

Male 15U, 17U, 19U – Director of Operations
Female 15U, 17U, 19U – Director of Operations

The Director of Operations oversees all age groups in desired division (Male or Female). 

The Director of Operations will be responsible for, but not limited to:

· Be available for conference calls with NLBHA

· Develop and manage with the help of NLBHA, budget, including per player costs

· Be responsible for contacting all chosen players, arranging payments for travel, accommodation, etc. as per the budget

· Select and help supervise all coaching staff, support staff and players

· Follow a set budget and keep spreadsheets up to date

· Supply pre and post tournament reports for presentation to the NLBHA Board

Location: Saint John, New Brunswick – July 20 – July 26

The Trainer/Equipment Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Emergency response on and off the floor as required
  • Ensure safe handover of any injured player to appropriate medical response teams
  • Assessment and treatment of player injuries before, during and after games, and/or practices
  • Document all injuries according to NLBHA and CBHA policy
  • Reporting all injuries to coaching staff in a timely and professional manor
  • Providing nutritional/hydration advice to players for pre-game, in game and post -game meals and snacks as well as monitoring in accordance with appropriate medical advice
  • Management of pre-game warm-up and post-game cool-down
  • Management, upkeep and repair of player equipment; 
  • Prepare and maintain a safe and clean dressing room space, including
  • Stall preparation
  • Ensuring proper drying techniques
  • General dressing room upkeep
  • Team supply setup and maintenance
  • Laundry
  • Bench setup
  • Ensure all team equipment complies with CBHA rules and regulations.

Coaching Applications – 2026 NL Summer Games Ball Hockey

Thank you for your interest in coaching ball hockey at the 2026 NL Summer Games. We are excited to bring together some of the province’s top young athletes and are looking for dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate coaches to help lead and develop our teams.

Please review the division details before completing your application:

  • Male Ball Hockey will take place August 8–11, featuring athletes born in 2012 and 2013.
  • Female Ball Hockey will take place August 12–15, featuring athletes born in 2010, 2011, and 2012.

This application is intended to help us better understand your coaching experience, philosophy, and availability. Our goal is to build strong staff groups that prioritize player development, teamwork, and a positive experience for all participants.

We appreciate your time and commitment to growing ball hockey in Newfoundland and Labrador.

CALL FOR REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES – 2026 NL Summer Games

The Newfoundland and Labrador Ball Hockey Association (NLBHA) is currently seeking Regional Representatives for ball hockey at the 2026 NL Summer Games.

This is a great opportunity to get involved in growing the game across the province and helping support athletes at a major multi-sport event.

Regions as follows:

Host Region

The Host Team is defined on a Games-by-Games basis by SportNL in consultation with the Host Committee; final decision rests with SportNL. For the 2026 NL Games the Host Region is defined by the polygon map linked here. This includes communities such as:

  • Corner Brook
  • Steady Brook
  • Massey Drive
  • Pasadena
  • Pinch Gut
  • Cox’s Cove
  • Lark Harbour
  • Gallants
  • George’s lake
  • Black duck siding
  • Mt Moriah
  • Summerside
  • meadows
  • McIvers

Avalon

Generally, all communities on the Avalon Peninsula and Isthmus of Avalon which are not included in the St. John’s/North, Mount Pearl/South and the Host regions, This includes Conception Bay South to Holyrood; the Conception Bay north shore (Conception Harbour to Grates Cove); the Trinity shore (Old Perlican to Blaketown) and up to Arnold’s Cove; the areas surrounding Long Harbour, Whitbourne, and Placentia; the Cape Shore and St. Mary’s Bay up to but excluding Trepassey.
Central
Gambo and west to Hampden, north to Notre Dame Bay and south to the south coast. This includes Bonavista North (Hare Bay, Wesleyville, Musgrave Harbour, Gander Bay); Gander; Fogo Island; Twillingate, Lewisporte; Botwood; Bishop’s Falls; Grand Falls – Windsor south to Harbour Breton; west of Harbour Breton to include François; east of Harbour Breton to (but exclusive of) Pool’s Cove; Springdale and the Baie Verte Peninsula south to Hampden.
Eastern
Northwest of and including Arnold’s Cove including the Bonavista Peninsula, the Burin Peninsula west to Pool’s Cove inclusive; Clarenville and northeast to Gambo but not including Gambo
Labrador
Includes all communities in Labrador.
Mount Pearl / South
Mount Pearl, Paradise, and all communities on the Southern Shore from Bay Bulls to Trepassey Inclusive.

St. John’s and Northern Communities including; Cape St. Francis, Bell Island, Torbay, Portugal Cove-St. Philips and Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove
Western
West of Hampden, including all of Northern Peninsula, and all communities west of François excluding the communities listed in the Host Region

Includes athletes from the following Aboriginal Nations; Nunatsiavut, Innu, Mi’kmaq and NunatuKavut (Labrador Metis)

2026 Junior Nationals – NL Selects Camp Registration NOW OPEN

The Canadian Junior National Ball Hockey Championships will be held in Saint John, New Brunswick,
from July 21 to July 25, 2026. 


NLBHA NL Selects Provincial Teams will be having camps for the following divisions:
15U Boys (Born 2011 / 2012)
17U Boys (Born 2009 / 2010)
19U Boys (Born 2007 / 2008)
15U Girls (Born 2011 / 2012)
17U Girls (Born 2009 / 2010)
19U Girls (Born 2007 / 2008)

NOTE: Anyone interested in trying out for NLBHA NL Selects Provincial Teams must register between February 1, 2026 – April 26, 2026.

Registration is now open. Don’t delay, register today! 

Camp Dates: 

Boys: May 22 – 24 @ DF Barnes Arena

2026 Female Provincials Information

The 2026 NLBHA Provincial Female Ball Hockey Championship will be held July 2-5 at DF Barnes Arena. The provincial tournament will have the same format as the last five years, with balanced teams being chosen from a draft of all registered players. There will be team captains chosen to pick the teams. This process has been very successful in the past, and we look to build on it again in 2026 with 5+ teams. Any club team from outside the Metro area is also welcome to apply to participate. This 2026 tournament will encompass all senior women and junior girls (born 2012 or before) in one division. 

Registration deadline will be Monday, June 8, 2026 – Absolutely no late registrations!

Team Roster Forms for all divisions due on or before June 14 for approval by NLBHA.

Please ensure all players are registered (NLBHA Player Registration Portal), and applicable insurance fees are paid.

Coaches and Team Staff must register through Online Registration (Participant Form –
Volunteers) with NLBHA prior to coaching or involvement with a team at any NLBHA event or tournament in 2026.

NLBHA OFFICIALS will facilitate and officiate each provincial tournament game.

There is a facility convenor and NLBHA convenor for each provincial tournament.

The 2026 Women’s B National Championship will take place July 14-18, 2026, in Montreal. 

The 2026 Women’s Premier ‘A’ National Championship will take place August 10-15, 2026, in Calgary.

Any player unable to attend the tryout sessions may apply for an exemption. Please state the reason for the exemption request.
