JOB OPPORTUNITY – NLBHA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

(Pilot project May to August 2024 – 15 weeks)

The NLBHA is seeking an energetic, organized and experienced sports administrator to help lead the game of ball hockey into the future.  You will serve as the point of contact for all stakeholders involved in the sport of ball hockey.  If you are an exceptional leader with excellent communication skills, and looking for a new challenge this opportunity is for you! 

The Executive Director will be responsible to handle all affairs of the NLBHA, including the management, operation and leadership of the Association reporting directly to the NLBHA Board of Directors.   

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and vision in consultation and with input from the NLBHA Board of Directors
  • Represent the NLBHA locally, provincially and nationally and liaise with all stakeholders involved in the sport of ball hockey including government ministries, member associations, CBHA, and others.
  • Oversee the implementation of programs, maintain and enhance policies and procedures, implement and enforce risk management procedures, adhere to all federal and provincial legislative privacy requirements, (PIPEDA).
  • Maintain and update social media platforms including NLBHA website, twitter, and other platforms
  • Coordinate NLBHA events including evaluation camps, provincials, nationals, and work to secure floor time, fees, forms, scheduling, officiating, etc.
  • Oversee the CBHA insurance program including processing of claims with the CBHA
  • Establish and maintain a NLBHA membership list
  • Responsible to track and maintain inventory, uniforms, equipment, awards, trophies
  • Attend NLBHA and CBHA meetings as required
  • General accounting/financial duties and preparation of reports in consultation with NLBHA Board of Directors
  • Other related duties

Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Sports Administrating or related field OR equivalent experience
  • Experience working with volunteer boards
  • Experienced office administrator
  • Experienced in writing funding applications, reports, budgeting and basic bookkeeping
  • General computer skills and experience maintaining social media platforms.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, be willing to travel and work from home
